Rockwood wins Innovation in Manufacture award 2018

Rockwood Composites, a leading expert in tool design and manufacturing of composite components, is celebrating its success at the Composites Industry Awards. Mark Crouchen and Douglas Johnstone represented the company at the awards dinner held at the National Motorcycle Museum, to celebrate this achievement.

With over 300 people attending the dinner on 31 October, the award celebrates the best of the composites industry and the leaders and supporters of this growing sector.

The award for Innovation in Manufacture was awarded to Rockwood Composites for its work with Tokamak Energy to develop a high voltage, high stress, electrical insulation system using high pressure moulding of pre-preg composites. Tokamak Energy aims to achieve commercial fusion power with a view of providing energy into the grid by 2030.

Rockwood specialises in manufacturing composite components for many sectors, including, aerospace, automotive, medical and nuclear. The Rockwood team has been supplying these industries for twenty-five years.
